

Suzanne is a psychiatric nurse working to educate professionals and families in the field of Alzheimer’s disease for the past 20 years. During that time Suzanne has written and developed a variety of homecare programs that teach families how to manage the day to day problems that can occur with someone with Alzheimer’s disease. The expertise and knowledge Suzanne brings to the understanding of Alzheimer’s has helped to guide these families through the development of their individualized plan of care while helping them gain the clarity they need to make educated decisions.
Suzanne’s unique approach to Dementia care is now being offered as a curriculum for advanced healthcare professionals to help them develop the knowledge and ability to do Alzheimer’s case management in the community. A separate curriculum has been developed to teach Nurse’s Aides the special skills needed to learn how to communicate and deliver personal care to those with Dementia.
Suzanne is currently the Director of Client Services for Alzheimer’s Services of Cape Cod & the Islands. In addition Suzanne has been the recipient of 7 consecutive Title IIIe grants from Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands for the purpose of providing caregiver education and training to families in the community. She facilitates a monthly caregiver support group at Sunrise Assisted Living in Plymouth and is a Dementia Care Consultant to their staff imparting her wisdom to help improve the quality of life for those living with Alzheimer’s disease.
